Not only is the old-school stand alive and well, but their pineapple water ice is slushy and sweet as ever. It's Waikiki by way of Washington Avenue in all its spoonless, Dixie-cup-creasing, pretzel rod-dipping glory. Like open fireplugs and a mid-season Phillies slump, summer in the City just wouldn't be complete without it.
