Cafe de Olla

It feels like the Siberian tundra outside, and we’ve got the best way to warm those lovely bones: café de olla from Las Bugambilias. Served black, the potent java is sweetened with brown sugar and cinnamon, a half-moon of fresh orange balanced on the rim. It’s hot and sweet, and the citrus gives the coffee a nice punch of grovestand freshness. We’ve tried to replicate it at home, without luck. No sweat. We could think of worse things than having to go back to Las Bugambilias, our new fave in what MenuPages Blog smartly calls the Mex215. Fierce.
