Trick or Meat

While enjoying a duo of tasty lil’ sliders (beef and lamb on poppy-seed brioche rolls with razor-thin waffle fries) Thursday night at Ansill, we noticed their $15 three-course Halloween dinner, appropriately entitled Trick of Meat. Here’s the menu, offered on Mischief Night and Halloween:

First Course
Eel and Squid, Squid Ink Sauce
Second Course
Beef Heart, Veal Kidney and Bacon Brochettes
Third Course
Lamb’s Tongue and Veal Cheeks, Sautéed Pumpkin

Now there’s something that will scare the kiddies. Ansill will also be hosting a pumpkin carving contest from 7 PM to 9 PM on the same nights. Participants receive a complimentary glass of beer or wine, as well as a pumpkin and a knife for carving. Alcohol + knives… David, you might want to think about putting severed human fingers on the Halloween menus. First place winner receives dinner for two, runner-up gets a bottle of Prosecco.
